my way for ...Delhi makeover

De-congesting Delhi:

Being fed up of reading emerging problems of a city like Delhi, the demolition drives, the sealing issues, the VIP route issues, the high profile office security issues, the money spent on VIP security .. blah blah ..

The major issue with all these problems is the growing need of central downtown area available in Delhi. Everyone from residents to markets to banks wants to have their establishment out there in the downtown. They carry with them a lot of traffic/parking/visitors, creating chaos. The govt is trying its bit by following the New York like model .. Spreading city suburbs .. promoting places like noida/ggn by creating an NCR. The solution seems to be good but this requires a lot of movement - movement to factories/ residents etc.. which is what is creating tension.
Just thought of some ways, that my upper control can think of -

Govt alone holds more than 40% of total Delhi prime land for its ventral offices/staff services etc. This 40 % makes the cost of property owned by Govt to about 20 Lakh Crores. We want to decongest Delhi by planning for those 10-15% area being used as residential/SSIs and these are those who has been living/working there for there full life.

My take is -
1) Why Govt wants to shift people out of Delhi which are just 10% space consumers.
2) Why dont Govt shift itself out of Delhi and create some suburbs for itself. Its far more easier to move people to work at a diff place than moving their residences.
3) Most of the govt offices are of British Era. Relocating them with all stateof art office at a new place makes more sense to me than keep them repairing in those unmanageable areas.
4) Huge money 20Lcrore + which it has as from Delhi land is far more higher than is required to develop a new city like Noida. The new govt office suburbs can be planned to provide highest level of security layers, there by ensuring their safety and reduction of huge amt being spent on their security individually. They will all new designed and managed as per the latest requirement.
5) We are creating a whole lot of new things like commonwealth games village again inside the city .. which is again gonna create issues just 5-10 yrs down the line .. ie .. theere will again plans to migrate those to new space ... What a waste of our money.
6) Once these centers are established they will become new center of growth.
7) Last n not least, this activity is going to generate employement for millions of people
